Borrowing Against Your Own Savings

A share secured advance is a personal loan secured using the balance in your share account as collateral. Your savings stay where they are and continue to belong to you. Because the loan is secured, the rate is usually lower than an unsecured personal loan.

What You Should Know

Your Savings Are Collateral

Secured using the balance in your share account.

Savings Stay Yours

The balance remains in your account rather than being spent.

Lower Rate Than Unsecured

Secured borrowing generally costs less than an unsecured loan.

Builds Payment History

Repaying on time adds to your credit record.

What to Have Ready

You will need a share account with a balance to pledge. Beyond that, underwriting is usually straightforward because the loan is secured by funds already at Waypoint.
