Waypoint Credit Union supports the schools, teams, and nonprofits that make Connecticut communities stronger. Reinvesting here is how we say thank you to the members who bank with us.
Many of the organizations doing that work face uncertain funding year to year. This program exists for them. Here is what we can fund, what we cannot, and how to ask.
How to Request Support
Review the guidelines first so your request matches what we are able to fund, then complete the online request form. A member of our team follows up on every submission.
Beyond 501(c)(3)s
You do not need nonprofit status. We fund educational initiatives, recreational community events, and groups that lift up the community and the people in it.
Some Requests Are Not Eligible
Individuals, religious programs, political and labor organizations, and a few others fall outside the program. The full list is below.
Recognition Is Required
Every recipient provides a media release, plus at least two of the five recognition options listed below.
Recognition Options
A request should benefit your cause and also give members visibility into where their credit union is investing. Every recipient agrees to a media release announcing Waypoint’s participation, and to at least two of the following five.
- Logo or name on event and program materials
- Name recognition on an agreed element of the event or program
- An invitation to the event or program
- The chance to host a table or place signage
- A mention in your newsletter, on your website, or on social media
What We Are Not Able to Fund
Waypoint does not provide sponsorships or donations to the following.
- Individuals
- Religious programs of churches or other sectarian organizations
- Fraternal, political, advocacy, or labor organizations
- Organizations that limit membership or services based on race, religion, color, creed, sex, age, or national origin
- Organizations with an IRS private foundation designation
Looking for a Scholarship?
Scholarships for graduating seniors are awarded through Scient Credit Union Foundation, Inc. and are handled separately from this program.
