Fewer offers. Fewer calls.
Privacy and Opting Out of Solicitations
If your mailbox fills with credit offers you never asked for, there is a way to turn most of them off. It is free, it takes a few minutes, and you control how long it lasts.
Why the Offers Start Arriving
When your credit is checked for a loan or a mortgage, the credit bureaus can sell that signal to other lenders and insurers. Your details end up on a prescreened marketing list, often within a day, and that is where the letters and the calls come from. It is legal, and you are allowed to opt out of it.
What You Should Know
Opt Out for Five Years
Stop prescreened credit and insurance offers for five years, online in a few minutes.
Opt Out Permanently
A permanent opt-out is available, and it requires a signed form sent by mail.
Opt Back In
If you opted out before and want offers again, you can reverse it the same way.
Stop Sales Calls
Register your number on the National Do Not Call Registry at DoNotCall.gov.
It Will Not Stop Everything
Catalogs, charities, alumni groups, and companies you deal with are not covered.
Scammers Ignore It
Fraudulent callers do not check any registry. Opting out is not fraud protection.

How Waypoint Handles Your Information
Common Questions
Give it several weeks. Mailings already in production will still arrive, and the permanent opt-out only takes effect once your signed form is received and processed.
No. Opting out of prescreened offers has no effect on your credit report or your credit score. It only stops lenders and insurers from using your file to send you unsolicited offers.
Take Back Your Mailbox
Both opt-out services are free and run by the industry and the federal government, not by Waypoint. Anyone charging you for this is charging for nothing.
Important Disclosures
If you opt out and the nationwide consumer credit reporting companies maintain a credit file for you, and can locate it from the information you provide, you will no longer be included in firm offer lists provided by those companies.
