Bring a quote for the work and proof of income. Because eligibility can depend on the specific improvement, it is worth confirming the measure qualifies before you sign a contract with an installer.
- Step 1. Choose a contractor approved by the Connecticut Green Bank
- Step 2. Confirm your project meets the Green Bank eligibility guidelines
- Step 3. Get preapproved by Waypoint before any work begins
- Step 4. Your contractor submits to the Green Bank, then we arrange closing

Common Questions
Yes. Solar panels are among the over 40 qualifying upgrades, alongside heat pumps and battery storage. The Connecticut Green Bank maintains the full list.
Yes. The work must be done by a contractor approved by the Connecticut Green Bank. If your contractor is not approved yet, they can apply to become approved.
Both. Smart-E is a Connecticut Green Bank programme and Waypoint is a participating lender. Waypoint lends the money. The Green Bank decides which upgrades qualify and approves the project.
