A Home Loan That Is Not a Home Equity Loan

Home Improvement Loan finances updates to your home regardless of your home’s present equity position. That is the point of it. If you have just bought, if values have moved against you, or if you would simply rather not put the house up as collateral, this is the route that does not require equity.

What You Should Know

No Equity Needed

Available regardless of your home's present equity position.

Your Home Is Not Collateral

Because it is unsecured, the house is not at risk if you fall behind.

Any Home Update

Kitchens, bathrooms, roofs, windows, whatever the project is.

Available Amounts

Up to $50,000, with terms from 60 to 180 months.

What to Have Ready

Because this is not secured by your home, underwriting looks mostly at you rather than the property. Bring proof of income and a rough sense of what the project costs.

Common Questions

A home equity loan is secured by your house and depends on how much equity you have. Home Improvement Loan is not, and does not. The trade-off is that an equity loan usually carries a lower rate. A lender can compare both for your situation.

Important Disclosures

APR = Annual Percentage Rate. Rates are accurate as of 16 September 2026 and are subject to change without notice. Your APR may differ based on credit history, credit worthiness, collateral year, term of loan, loan to value, and fees that may constitute finance charges. Not all applicants will qualify for the lowest rate. Your actual APR will be included in the initial Truth in Lending disclosure.

Payment example: for a loan amount of $5,000 with an APR of 9.49% over a term of 12 months, the monthly payment would be $438.24.

Applicants consolidating debt add 1.00% to the personal loan base rate, not to exceed 17.99%.
